Microsoft partner Perpetual Motion Interactive Systems Inc. recently announced the availability of DotNetNuke 3.0,
a community project built on Microsoft ASP.NET. DotNetNuke 3.0 allows less technical users to build great Web sites
and take advantage of the .NET Platform and is generating excitement amongst developers and web hosters. Originally
based on Microsoft's ASP.NET Portal Starter Kit sample, DotNetNuke has grown into a community development project
that has surpassed 130,000 users and continues to grow rapidly.
New features in this new version include forward compatibility with Microsoft ASP.NET 2.0 (Visual Studio 2005)
platform, new localization and search capabilities, a more intuitive user interface, support for
"drag-and-drop" content management, and enhanced provisioning support for scriptable
configuration. In addition, the application underwent an extensive code access security review
so that it is capable of running in a Medium Trust web hosting environment.
