Microsoft has shipped the release version of Silverlight 2. The runtime is currently available
for Windows and Mac browsers.
For those of you who have been living in a cave for the last six months, Silverlight is Microsoft's
rich internet application platform or as Microsoft puts it:
Microsoft Silverlight is a cross-browser, cross-platform implementation of the .NET Framework for building media experiences and rich interactive applications for the Web.
Silverlight powers rich application experiences and delivers high quality, interactive video across the Web and mobile devices through the most powerful runtime available on the Web.
Despite the power it offers, the runtime is under 5 MB and installs quickly.
