In general you are free to use it for personal web pages
and commercial web pages.
Here's a quick list of the type of thing you are certainly
free to do:
Use the forum code to run your own forum on your site. On commercial pages please ask us first (please note, we have never said no to the use of the forum code).
Use the sample code to access your DB.
Use the counters to count visitors to your page.
Use the CDONTS sample to send email. (Please remove our names from the CC field first... you'd be amazed at the number of email we get from that!)
UNACCEPTABLE USES OF OUR SAMPLE CODE
While this is by no means a comprehensive list of the things we
don't want you to use our code for, here are a few examples of
the type of things that are unacceptable:
Removing our name from the code and then publishing or selling the source code as if you wrote it.
Selling the source code or receiving other monetary gains from our source code.
If you are unsure if your intended use of the code is acceptable,
please send us an email and ask. As stated earlier, we've yet
to tell someone that they couldn't use our sample code, but if
it's questionable or it involves any form of publishing of the
code, we'd appreciate you
letting us know in advance.
Unless it's a blatant attempt to hurt us, the site, or its
reputation, I'm confident we'll be able to work something out.
